Wine, a capital goal for Montpellier: listen to our podcast!

Information updated on 30/05/23

Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole is a rich wine-growing region, with over 200 winegrowers and about 3,000 hectares of vineyards. Just like Bordeaux and Macon, Montpellier once again aspires to become a French capital for wine.

The Montpellier winegrowing and winemaking sector has cultural, tourist, social, and economic objectives that involve wineries, associations, residents, and institutions at various levels. Central to our lifestyle, the Montpellier Métropole area’s vineyards are constantly buzzing with activity and are an integral part of our identity.
