Kyomed Innov accompagne le développement des solutions de santé de demain

KYomed INNOV’s tagline says it all: “Working with you to shape the medicine of tomorrow.” The company was founded in April 2014 in Montpellier by Daniel Laune, a biochemistry engineer with a PhD in biotechnology.

As of late 2018, eleven people work at the company’s offices in Cap Gamma, in Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole’s Biopôle Euromédecine business center. KYomed INNOV is currently focusing on development in three areas: a living lab to measure the impact of connected health and autonomy solutions on patients; clinical study activities for innovative devices; and a platform for identification and clinical validation of health markers.

“We often combine two or three of these areas to offer a unique approach that is sought after worldwide,” explains Daniel Laune.

The Montpellier startup assists the Carsat LR retirement fund with its efforts to help elderly people remain at home independently. KYomed INNOV also coordinates the Mask project on allergic rhinitis for the Chronic Disease and Active Aging Foundation - Languedoc-Roussillon (FMAC VIA-LR), which deploys the Allergy Diary mobile application in 23 European countries. Furthermore, it participates in the ambitious Pollar project to analyze the impact of pollution on asthma and rhinitis. The project won EIT Health’s Call for Innovation by Design 2017 .

KYomed INNOV is now focusing on developing its own solutions. The first in the series, being tested this Autumn at the Montpellier University Hospital Center (CHU) and the Montpellier Cancer Institute (ICM), seeks to make clinical trials easier and simplify their follow-up via a web platform and mobile application. “Others will follow...”

Call-for-projects on innovating for well-being and aging well: “Mon Cap Santé”

We are also coordinating a project called “Mon Cap Santé” (my direction to health) for 2018-2020, the health chapter in the Smart City initiative, whose steering committee includes Montpellier Métropole, the Montpellier Community Center for Social Action (CCAS), and the University of Montpellier’s E-health chair. We organized meetings with concerned citizens, notably seniors, to identify their health needs and define the requirements for a call-for-projects on innovative solutions for well-being, as part of the EcoCité initiative,” adds Daniel Laune, founder and CEO of KYomed INNOV

This call-for-projects opened on December on the KYomed INNOV website and will enable projects to benefit from assistance and funding to adapt the development of a solution intended to preserve elderly people’s health reserves by taking a co-design approach.
